Janome’s standard bobbin reference is 102261103. Its accessory page shows clear resin with a J marking and explicitly lists the HD-3000 and HD-3000 Black Edition.
Janome excludes 1600P, HD9, MB4 and MB7 from this standard bobbin family. Keep the HD-3000 and HD9 names separate when ordering.
Check the named family before buying
The standard-bobbin page contains an extensive compatible-machine list. Use that list for the bobbin, including the complete name and suffix. A “Janome compatible” claim without a reference leaves specialist machines unresolved.
Do not replace the bobbin holder by appearance
The bobbin is the small spool of lower thread. The bobbin holder is the surrounding component. Buying 102261103 replaces the spool, not the holder. A damaged holder needs its own machine-specific part identification.
Use the machine manual for loading
The HD-3000 manual has separate instructions for winding, inserting the bobbin and drawing up the thread. Follow those illustrations instead of copying a loading direction from another Janome machine. Keep one labelled set of the correct bobbins with the machine.
HD-3000: load the thread through both holder notches
On the HD-3000, switch off before working in the needle or bobbin area. The manual shows the bobbin thread unwinding counter-clockwise. Draw it through front notch A, left between the tension-spring blades, and then into notch B. Leave about 15 cm of thread before replacing the hook cover. This is the HD-3000 path; another machine sharing 102261103 still needs its own loading instructions.
